story without a tale
-originally published on the igneous mailgroup in 2001
and now resurrected.

an exercise in language as a matrix of text

fainted heads
a smell so bad I'd sniff your socks
getting outside, our prime concern
outside of ourselves
besides
sometimes we feel
dandelions roaring
delicately placed among the roses
I've been torn before
still
I'll never take it literally
anymore
not after this

(to be continued)

 ii
(continued)
suddenly reared
he moans for more fumes to be burned
demons on the stake, angels crosslinked
we are monsters
differently natured
always hard, relentless
the flowerbrush painting
swarms of bees
cutting through the air
I hear the party
breaking up inside
as you smile
torrential torment

(to be continued)

iii
(continued)

and shaken around
our feet blistered already
ready to be sold
monsters!
almost consumed
this heat inside
our bodies
turning to the fragrance
like a finger
pointing
it hurts, like cutting
we'll fall
it's the end

(to be continued)

iv
(continued)

while stretching trembling limbs
walking up and down
to the loudest caller
kindness faltered
by wretched dreams
of existing
in a still life
of magnolia coloured proto-honey
feeling the lightning reaching
to the clouds
stones
no more
the amoebae know
(to be continued)
v

(continued)
we finally wake
on rough edged and mote ridden floors
insatiably devouring heavenly light
raised again
we remain souls
on different plains
of unconsciousness
they know, we are looking
for a place to shudder
imagine, they say
with human mass
we'll create
a new beginning
(to be continued)

vi

(continued)
to a clear blue sky
he and the other pray
they attempt to be saved
from a lair of human debris
looking for exits
they smile
we pull eachother closer
they see, we are
but never did it feel like
a storm of
torn skin and shattered visions
a new torment
is coming
(to be continued)

vii

(continued)
our eyes beg
for living dreams
to be released
every muscle lacks the definition
and the energy
to get a hold
until we feel every pore, every hair
glistening with sweat
a storm of blood and plasma
rages
nothing remains
to embrace
violently
(to be continued)

viii

(continued)
to cover the light
we keep hiding in the shadows
from the claws of their pleasure
to be in this house of slumbers
to regain control
of our mind's veil
we ooze regret
and we whisper goodbye
I am restless, I'll keep
washing the night from your face
till we are born again
in this new day
we will be resurrected
(to be continued)

ix

(continued)
we hesitate to breathe
fearful of their intent
and the pain it inflicts
we need the lightness
of our bodies and minds
but I look away
and hide inside our moist covers
again I am alone
longing for you
you don't smile
in this dreamfilled reality
I'll be hurt but
in the end.
(and now it eats its own tail, digests it and is born again)
